Goat Bar Ingredients

Each bar of goat soap is handmade and hand poured in small batches with minimal ingredients. All bars contain organic olive oil, raw goat milk, organic coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, and essential oils if scented. Some bars contain ingredients such as oatmeal or charcoal. Gentle, nourishing, and free of artificial perfumes, dyes, and preservatives. Organic Olive Oil:
This oil has been used in skincare and health for centuries and its rich history isn't just a fluke. Olive Oil is full of antioxidants (such as vitamins A and E) that help neutralize free radicals that cause skin damage. The hydrophilic properties of these antioxidants help to form a protective barrier, trapping moisture on your skin and allowing for longer hydration.

Raw Goat Milk:
 Our goats spend their days in the sun and fresh air every day. Goat's milk is gentle, nourishing, and full of moisturizing butterfat that soothes dry or irritated skin. Because of its unique structure, in particular its short protein strands, the abundance of natural minerals and vitamins in goat's milk is easily absorbed into your skin, helping to moisturize, protect, and heal.    

Organic Coconut Oil:
Helps strengthen underlying tissues and removes excessive dead cells on the skin's surface, keeping skin soft.

Sodium Hydroxide:

All soap is made with lye. Either sodium hydroxide is used for bar soap or potassium hydroxide is used for liquid soap. There is no substitute for lye. Nothing else will make oil become soap. Lye mixes with oil and saponifies, or becomes soap. At first, you have lye, milk, and oil. Then the curing process begins and at the end of the curing process, perhaps 3-4 weeks (sometimes more), there is no lye left in the soap. What is left behind is pure soap.
